IDGRR
Born in Ukraine, Bubbles was used by multiple breeders in both Ukraine and eventually Montana and Idaho, despite having obvious health issues, to produce countless litters. Bubbles came to us after she was spayed and being "retired" from a breeder. She was placed into a wonderful home in Hailey with a family who continue to treasure her for her bubbly personality, her loving, therapeutic nature and her constant snuggly companionship. Shelly has told us repeatedly what a blessing it is to have Bubbles with her. “Bubbles has been a lifesaver for me. I love when we go to bed at night and she walks up a ramp and parks herself right next to me in bed.”
Buddy came from a home with elderly humans that could no longer care for him. Enter his new mom and dad…active, patient and loving. He is doing great!
Roman was surrendered to us as his Twin Falls owner was having significant medical issues and was unable to care for him physically and financially. Now known as Romo, he is thoroughly enjoying life (after being neutered and brought up to date on vaccines) with his 65 year old dad who adores him, lets him romp and sleep on all the furniture and walks him to the local dog park three times daily. His dad loves watching him get "the zoomies" in their backyard in Boise.
Pace was our earliest inspiration for starting IDGRR. He was one of three Goldens in an active person's life for nearly six years. He suddenly became randomly aggressive toward other dogs on and off trails. His owner painstakingly chose to seek another situation for him after trying nearly every other option including hiring a trainer. He was placed into a single dog home in Boise and thrived. He never had another episode of violence and the family that adopted him became more active and saw him through to a few months past his 13th birthday. They now have two more retrievers.
Tommy was surrendered to us after his Boise family decided that having both a four month old puppy and one year old twin boys was more than they could handle. He lived to be nearly 12 with his active owner and eventually was an older "brother" to a set of twin girls. He was loved dearly by his adopted family.
Luca now has a sprinter van as his mode of transport. His very active owner gets in 20,000+ steps a day, so Luca is one lucky boy. They are getting along quite well.
Buddy was surrendered to us by an aging couple unable to care for him properly. Enter his new dog parents- Abbey and Isaiah. They are thrilled with Buddy and are happily getting him adjusted to their lifestyle in Boise.
Remi was referred to us through a mutual friend. His Kimberly family was overwhelmed with his care and realized that with four small children, Remi was not getting the exercise he deserved. Remi got along so perfectly with our younger dog, Jasper, that we kept him! He's now getting river walks, tons of "sibling" playtime and enjoys getting his pizza bones everyday! He’s our own personal “foster fail”!
Dunkin’ (now Duncan) was painstaking surrender by his loving family (they had allergies and tried everything to keep him). Luckily Scot and his family came along and Duncan has integrated quite seamlessly. He now has a new boy to adore him.
IGGRR
Rocket has hit the jackpot with Gina. Gina is super with this uber active kid. They have already had multiple adventures including several lake swims, runs and tons of walks. They are the best match!
Sally was brought into the Caldwell shelter as a stray along with another Golden. She went unclaimed and a family eventually adopted her, post spay and vaccine updates. She turned out to be an escape artist and her new family, also tasked with caring for their special needs child, decided to seek another home for her as they feared she'd be hit by a car on one of her escape escapades. Her next home proved to be a rather good one in the Idaho mountains, until the owner got himself into a pickle and lost his job and housing. Sally was literally dumped on our doorstep. We worked with a local animal sanctuary to find her the perfect home with secure fencing, people she adores and plenty of exercise. She's doing well in the Wood River Valley.
Goldie, while loving and awesome with kiddos, was fighting with another dog in her household. After exploring multiple options, we connected Goldie to Virginia in Pocatello. Virginia has extensive past experience with multiple rescues and was our very first adoption applicant at IDGRR. Fast forward through many many phone conversations and Goldie was finally delivered to Virginia on May 22nd. Goldie took to her immediately. What a lovely connection. Thanks to the family surrendering Goldie for caring so very much about where Goldie was placed, this was a beautiful ending/beginning.
