Lucy was my soul dog, and I was her person. It was love at first sight for both of us. We had so many great adventures together, including spending most of a summer in Stanley, Idaho with Jen and her 4 golden retrievers, Finn, Willow, Rio and Ruby.

Oh our sweet, sweet Willow Bug. She was my heart connection and the first female to leave our pack, much too early. I adored her and she returned my adoration a thousand times over.
2005 – 2017

Dubbed "Snuffy" by my three year old niece, Viv, Simon never met a sock, glove or hotdog he didn't love. He was full of personality and spent much of his life hiking and swimming, even on his very last day of life. He spent many years in Stanley and made everyone smile with his resounding whoo, whoo. whoos.
2012 – 2024
The sweetest of the sweet, this blond boy was kind, energetic and very aptly named. He adored every river and lake and swam nearly everyday of his life. Fondly known as "the engineer", he could navigate a ten foot long stick in the narrowest of forests. He was the happiest of dogs.
2017 – 2025

Finn was our naughty singleton. He was a character and gave us a run for our money in the patience category. He carefully chose his few humans (that he'd do anything for, including Aunt Jessica) and ruled the roost with our pack. He died way too soon and we still find ourselves looking out on the back porch every morning for him, where he guarded us all so diligently.
2001 – 2013

Harley was a black lab mix, not a golden retriever, but he was one of my favorite dogs ever. He wasn't mine, but taking care of Harley was one of the best experiences I've ever had with a dog, and it led me directly to Lucy.
1982 – 1994

Charlie was my childhood Golden Retriever, and my mom's favorite dog. Goldens have always been one of my favorites, and Charlie is the dog that later led me to get Lucy, a Goldendoodle.
1995 – 2007

Otis was one of a kind. He sported red curly fur, was incredibly loving and he was always up for an adventure. He loved chasing rocks and swimming in any body of water, especially the Pacific Ocean. He was my very first long term relationship. 😊🐾💕
1992 – 2003

Bailey was my very first Golden Retriever as an “adult”. He was named by a six year old when we were swimming in Redfish Lake when he was only 8 weeks old. She said "What's your puppy's name?" I said, "Can you please name him?" She screamed "Bailey, Bailey, Bailey!" He came swimming right up to her. My folks and younger sister, Emily, ended up taking over his care as I finished college (a big reason that IGRR chooses to not adopt our dogs to college students. My family adored him.
